How to: Minimal PDF-Log Layout

How to: Minimal PDF-Log Layout

Follow this step-by-step guide to create a concise and compact PDF-Log in BauMaster!

You can define the PDF output of your BauMaster protocols in two places:

Project Settings

1. Open Settings Window

2. Set Design

There are 2 different designs. For a compact PDF we recommend "Compact, framed layout".

3. Set Contacts

  1. Deselect the "Insert all project contacts" checkbox. Only the recipients and attendees will then be listed on the PDF, which considerably minimizes your contact list.
  2. Select "Display companies & contacts in single line"

4. Set Entry Layout

If photos are not relevant for the document, they can be hidden. If that is not the case, they can at least be displayed small.

Idea
Enable "Attachments & images as download link" - this way recipients can still open and view the images in the PDF in their original size.

5. Optimize Entry Arrangement

It is recommended to avoid settings such as "Start entries on 2nd page" etc.

6. Reduce Entry Details

No matter what information you document in the protocol entries in BauMaster, you can simply hide it on the PDF document. Deselect all entry details that are not absolutely necessary on the PDF.

Here is an example of a minimal variant:

7. Save

In the Project Settings:

Click "Next" twice, set a default email text if necessary, and then click "Save". This way, all records of this type (e.g. meeting minutes) will be sent with these settings in the future.

Warning
If you click "Overwrite all record styles", the settings for all protocol types in the entire project will be overwritten!

When sending

The steps remain the same as above, except before step 7 "Save" the following must be noted:
You can save the settings you made for all protocols of this type, e.g. for all meeting minutes, using "Save layout as template".
WarningWhen using the "Save layout as template" action, the settings for this protocol type (e.g. meeting minutes or defect logs etc.) will be overwritten in the project settings.
