In BauMaster, you have two ways to create a construction schedule:
- Independent of ongoing documentation, as a standalone module ****(described in this article)
- A "construction schedule" that is generated from protocol entries and created through the detailed search / filtering in the form of a Gantt view
The Construction Schedule (Module)
One construction schedule can be created per project.

We recommend creating a template project with a "template construction schedule" that you can simply copy into the respective project.
This saves you from having to create standard phases and tasks that are the same or similar for each project.
Key Points Overview
- The construction schedule is independent of protocols and entries
- You can create up to 5 levels: Construction phase > Construction phase/sections > Task > Subtask > Milestone
- The construction schedule can be filtered, copied, grouped and exported
Construction Phases and Tasks
The construction schedule is organised into higher-level construction phases and subordinate tasks. The construction phase automatically extends from the first to the last task. Under a construction phase, you can create additional construction phases/sections, tasks, or milestones.
1. Use the top plus icon to create a new construction phase:
The advantage of construction phases is that you can click on entire phases and move them via drag & dropFor example, if the completion of the shell construction is delayed, you can take the entire interior construction phase and move it back by the desired time with just one click. All tasks, subtasks, and dependencies remain unchanged and are carried over.
2. Use the plus icon next to the construction phase to create a new construction phase/section, a milestone or a new task:

By default, "Task" is pre-selected. However, if you want to create another construction phase, click on "Type" > "Construction Phase
3. Using the plus icon next to the task, you can add a milestone or a new subtask:
You can create a hierarchy of max. 5 levels:
Construction phase > Construction phase/section > Task > Subtask - Milestones
Levels using a practical example
- Higher-level construction phase "Construction"
- Then there are multiple construction phases/sections such as "Site Work and foundation" or "Rough framing"
- Below these are respective tasks like "Rough grading", "Footings", "Foundation" and "Inspection: Foundation"
- You can further break down individual tasks into subtasks
- Independent or possible at any level - the milestone. Here "Inspection Foundation"

Dependencies
In the construction schedule, you can define dependencies using arrows. This works from task to task, from phase to phase, from task to phase and vice versa.
There are two different types of dependencies:
- The flexible dependency -> blue line
- Fixed dependency -> red line
Creating a dependency
Simply click on one of the circles next to a task, hold down the mouse button, and release it next to another circle. An arrow will automatically be created between these two markers.
Editing and Deleting Dependencies
If you want to fix this dependency, you can double-click on the circle to edit, fix, or delete the connection.

Drag-and-drop (simple repositioning)
A major advantage on PC and laptop is the simple, familiar selection method (hold down the Shift key to select multiple levels). The marked or selected phases/tasks are highlighted in blue, and you can easily move them forward or backward by holding down the mouse button. For example, you can move entire phases with just a few clicks, and the dates automatically adjust.
Here are the most important keyboard shortcuts:
CTRL (hold) + left mouse button (click) = Select different entries
Shift (hold) + left mouse button (click) = Select all entries between two chosen phases/tasks
Clicking on the construction phase moves it forward/backward unchanged along with all tasks and subtasks. The only exceptions are when working with fixed dependencies - in these cases, they will also be moved back even if they don't belong to the phase.
Understanding the Icon Bar
First, you can quickly switch between projects. When switching from protocols to the construction schedule, you remain in the same project within the construction schedule.
With the magnifying glass, you can change the view on PC or tablet. With the corner symbol, you can display the entire time period for all tasks and phases.
Work-Free Days and Calendar

There are predefined holiday calendars for Germany and Austria, or you can set individual free days, such as company holidays.
In the construction schedule, you can account for:
- predefined calendars with holidays
- custom work-free days
can be taken into consideration.
with Add Calendar you can select from predefined calendars.
or you can enter custom days or periods via + work-free days

Work-free days are marked in red in the construction schedule:

Dependencies are taken into account when adding work-free days.
Filtering in the Construction Schedule
Using the funnel icon, you can filter by the following functions:
- Trade
- Status
- Start date (display of specific time period)
- End date (display of specific time period)
Organize by Trade
Using the stack icon, you can "sort" tasks by trade or group the rows. This means that all tasks are arranged by trade.
Exporting the Construction Schedule
You can then export the construction schedule as a PDF.
Here you can select the following settings:
- Paper format (A0 - A5)
- Page orientation (landscape or portrait)
- Zoom (how the construction schedule will be printed: calendar week, month, fitted to format)
- Title (appears at the very top of the finished PDF)
- Date (appears in the top right of the PDF)
- The address and construction period
- Description (appears to the right of the project address and construction period)

Construction Schedule Settings
Here you can configure and reset display settings:
- Show grid = show/hide Name, Status, Trade etc. to the left of the Gantt chart
- Show/hide individual columns in the grid
- Show weekends (weekends are not counted in duration since they are not working days!)
- Show start date
- Highlight alternate rows (every second row in gray)
Copying Construction Phases with Tasks
If you have created a template construction schedule, for example, you can copy construction phases and entries into the construction schedule of other projects or duplicate them in the current one.

Note: when copying a task, the entire hierarchy will always be copied along with it.

Import MS-Project Construction Schedule
BauMaster Admins can import .mpp files from an MS-Project schedule. Please note that MS-Project has many settings and configuration options; the interface may not be compatible when using very specific MS-Project settings.
For Admins, the Import button is visible in the top menu bar.

The import is only available on the desktop version.
If tasks already exist in a current construction schedule, the imported MS-Project schedule will be inserted below them.
Deleting the Construction Schedule
Since the construction schedule itself is independent of protocols, people, etc., you cannot delete the construction schedule in this form. You can only delete individual tasks and construction phases. To do this, double-click on the desired phase/task and then click on "delete".

Warning: deletion cannot be undone.
Display Characteristics
- For short task descriptions, the name appears to the right
- Overdue tasks display a warning sign (when status is "open" before the current date)
- Completed tasks appear semi-transparent
- Start dates show up on the left side of each construction phase or task
- Dependencies are color-coded: blue for flexible, red for fixed
- Column widths for Name, Status, Trade, and other fields can be adjusted by dragging
- Split-Task
Open and Overdue Tasks
Overdue open tasks display a warning sign:
Completed Task
The completed task appears grayed out or with reduced transparency:
Split Task and Task Combining
For a cleaner view, you can enable "Combine Tasks or Subtasks." This feature collapses tasks with their subtasks into a single row, displaying them as adjacent or overlapping bars.
